The Machame Route stands among the most popular paths to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. Trekkers often call it the Whiskey Route due to its scenic but challenging terrain.

The seven day itinerary improves acclimatization. Gradual altitude gain increases summit success rates. The route offers wide views of Mount Meru, the Shira Plateau, and the glaciers near the summit.
