Itinerary

Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport. Your safari guide welcomes you and transfers you to your lodge in Arusha. Arusha stands at the base of Mount Meru and serves as the gateway to Tanzania’s northern safari parks. Relax after travel and attend a short safari briefing with your guide.

  • Dinner and overnight in Arusha.

Morning departure from Arusha toward Tarangire National Park. The drive takes about two hours through Maasai villages and open countryside.Tarangire holds one of the largest elephant populations in Tanzania. Large herds gather along the Tarangire River during the dry season.Game drive across the park. Look for lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and rare antelope such as gerenuk and lesser kudu. Massive baobab trees dominate the landscape

  • Dinner and overnight at the lodge or tented camp.

Ascending the Crater Rim After a final morning game drive, we journey toward the lush Ngorongoro Conservation Area. We’ll stop at the rim’s primary viewpoint for a breathtaking first look at the 600-meter-deep caldera. Spend the evening at a lodge perched directly on the rim, watching the sunset dip below the crater floor.

Early morning descent into Ngorongoro Crater for a full day game drive.The crater floor covers about 260 square kilometers and supports one of Africa’s densest wildlife populations. Lion prides roam the grasslands. Black rhino graze in open areas. Hippos gather in freshwater pools.Look for elephants, buffalo, hyenas, flamingos, and large herds of wildebeest and zebra.Picnic lunch near the hippo pool inside the crater. Continue wildlife viewing in the afternoon.

Morning drive through the Ngorongoro highlands toward Serengeti National Park. The landscape opens into wide savannah plains. Enter the Serengeti and begin your first game drive across the central region. This area supports high predator numbers. Search for lions resting on kopjes, cheetahs scanning the plains, and leopards resting in acacia trees.

Morning drive begins at sunrise when predators remain active. Large herds of wildebeest and zebra move across the plains depending on season. During migration months, thousands of animals travel across the Serengeti ecosystem. Midday break at the lodge or camp. Afternoon game drive continues across the savannah. Optional sunrise hot air balloon safari over the Serengeti plains

  • Dinner and overnight in Serengeti.

Enjoy one last sunrise game drive, catching the predators while they are still active. After a celebratory bush brunch, you have the choice of a scenic drive back to Arusha or a bush-flight (highly recommended) for a bird’s-eye view of the path you just traveled. Transfer to JRO for your international flight home
