Rocky alpine desert below the snow-covered summit of Kilimanjaro Climbers' tents at a camp below the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro Climbers walking through snow near Uhuru Peak on Kilimanjaro Snow and rock on the crater rim near Uhuru Peak, the summit of Kilimanjaro
  • 7 Days
  • Mount Kilimanjaro

The Rongai route approaches Kilimanjaro from the north, near the Kenyan border. It is quieter than the southern routes and drier, and it gives you close views of the jagged Mawenzi peak.

Our 7-day climb includes a full acclimatisation day at Mawenzi Tarn, below Mawenzi peak. A short climb and a rest at the same camp help your body adapt to the altitude before you cross the Saddle to Kibo Hut and summit night.

You descend by a different route, via Horombo Huts to Marangu Gate. The climb includes two nights bed and breakfast at a hotel, before and after the mountain.
